The dust is horrible and the ground needs leveling again but it still does its job and allows anyone to have a good ride or a training session. All i can say is thank god it isn't an indoor arena with dust like that.

Angelle gingerly stepped out of the tack room, with a halter swung over her shoulder. She walked through the stable's alley and stopped at Snazzy's stall. "Hello, there Snazzy! Ready to ride?" she said as she pet Snazzy's soft nose. Snazzy nickered then withdrew her head, waiting for
Angelle to open the door.

Angelle carefully open the stall's door and entered. She put the halter's rope
over Snazzy neck, then slid the halter on and secured it. She led Snazzy out and led her through the stable to the tack room.

Securing Snazzy to the hitching post with a quick release knot. Then she groomed Snazzy's beautiful black coat using a curry comb, a stiff brush, then a soft brush. Picking up each of Snazzy hooves in turn, she used a hoof pick to clean out all dirt that could be stuck in the frog of her hoof.

Angelle carefully placed a saddle blanket on Snazzy, being careful not to rub her coat the wrong way. Then she placed her western saddle on Snazzy, reaching under the mare to tighten the cinch. She took off the halter, and slipped the bridle in, making sure she could fit a couple of fingers between the throat latch and Snazzy's throat.

"We're ready, girl," said Angelle, placing one foot in the stirrup and swinging herself on. She squeezed her legs into Snazzy's sides and walked the mare into the arena. She walked the mare along the fence, then turned and walked her the other way.

"Come on, girl," said Angelle, squeezing Snazzy's sides. Snazzy went into a spirited trot, that quite jostled Angelle. "Slow down, girl, slow down," said Angelle, pulling on the reins slightly. Snazzy slowed to a comfortable trot. "Come on, let's go Snazzy! said Angelle, clucking and squeezing her legs. Snazzy began to lope.

"Whoa!" Angelle said, as she pulled the reins. Snazzy stopped, and her ears went backward, listening to Angelle's next cue.

Angelle pulled on the reins while squeezing her legs, and Snazzy began a slow, stiff, and jerky movement backward. "Good job girl, but you need a little more work,".

Angelle began trotting Snazzy in circles, going left, then right, and finally making her lope through these patterns. "Now it's time for some fun, Snazzy!"said Angelle. She clucked and squeezed Snazzy's sides. Snazzy took off in a gallop down the fence. "That a girl, that's the way to go!" praised Angelle. Angelle urged Snazzy to gallop around first left, then right. Finally she slowed Snazzy down. "Ok, Snazzy, let's cool down," said Angelle soothingly. Snazzy did not want to slow down, she wanted to run!

Angelle walked her around the arena for about ten minutes, then rode her out to the tack room. She dismounted and put her halter on, then tied her up and pet the mare saying, "You did well, Snazzy."

She then untied the saddle's cinch, and lay it over the seat of the saddle, then looping the right stirrup over the saddle horn.

She went to the mare's left side and slid off both the saddle and pad together.

Angelle then picked up Snazzy's hooves and hoof-picked them, making sure that nothing was going to be left to hurt her mare. She then took out the curry comb and rubbed the mare with a circular motion, following up with the stiff brush, and finally the soft brush.

Angelle stroked Snazzy on the shoulder and said, "You've done well. How about a treat?" Snazzy nuzzled Angelle, and Angelle gave her a carrot.

She then led the mare into her stall.

She's done well, thought Angelle. Maybe she'll be something sometime.

This is the Second Training Post for Snazzy.

Angelle opened the door to Snazzy's stall, and haltered the mare. Snazzy was spirited, spunky, and spooky today, it seemed. It was crisp and cool, and Angelle shuddered slightly as she led the dancing mare out of her stall. "Calm down, there, girl!" said Angelle as Snazzy began to lighten her forehand, threatening to rear.

Angelle led Snazzy to the tack room, and tied her with a quick release knot. Then she brought out her grooming tools and groomed Snazzy's coat till it shined. Angelle brought out the saddle pad and placed it on Snazzy, after which she placed the saddle on, tightening the cinch. Then she slipped Snazzy's halter off and slid the bridle on. "Ok, we're ready to go, Snazzy," she said, as she placed one foot in the stirrup and swung herself into the saddle.

Angelle walked Snazzy into the arena, and began by warming the mare up, by first walking, then trotting, and finally letting her lope a little.

Angelle then stopped Snazzy and pulled on the reins, simultaneously squeezing her legs into Snazzy's sides. Snazzy took a few steps backward, then stopped. "Good job, Snazzy," praised Angelle.

Angelle then went near the arena fence, and turned Snazzy's head to the right into the fence, cuing Snazzy's left by squeezing her legs to Snazzy's left side. Snazzy began by balking. Angelle patiently repositioned her, and Snazzy began to back up when Angelle urged her again. Angelle continued training Snazzy until Snazzy yielded and began turning, as Angelle wanted. "Good job, girl!" she praised the mare. She continued working on the turn until Snazzy turned correctly, placing one leg over the other, and pivoting her back legs.

Angelle urged Snazzy on, until Snazzy successfully turned completely around. "That's the way girl," said Angelle, petting Snazzy.

Angelle then began walking in a large circle to the right in the arena. She walked Snazzy around and around a few times, then urged her into a fast trot. After trotting a few times, she urged Snazzy into a slow lope, going around in the same circle. After a little while, she let Snazzy rest a little, then began the same exercise with a left circle, cuing Snazzy whenever she got into the wrong lead.

She then began trotting Snazzy in a figure 8 pattern. Then she began loping her around one of the circles of the figure 8. As they approached the middle of the figure 8, Angelle lifted Snazzy's head with her hands, shifted her weight into her seat and hips, and cued Snazzy with her legs. She repeated this exercise until Snazzy correctly changed leads when Angelle cued her too. "Good job, Snazzy!" she praised.

Then she began loping Snazzy around the arena. "Are you ready to run?" she asked. She urged Snazzy into a gallop around the arena, where both of them had a blast! After a few runs, Angelle slowed Snazzy down and cooled her down by walking around for a little while. Then she dismounted and led Snazzy to the tack room. "That was good, Snazzy,"[b/] she praised. She untacked Snazzy, then led her back into the arena.

Angelle took out a carrot and held it low, between Snazzy legs. Snazzy backed a little, bending down to reach the carrot, but Angelle kept it between her legs, forcing Snazzy to bend to reach it, not back up. Angelle repeated this (using more carrots), till Snazzy could do it well.

She then held the carrot between Snazzy's front legs, and commanded, [b]"Bow,"
but when Snazzy bent to reach it, Angelle held it further back, forcing Snazzy to bend her knee to kneel to reach it. She repeated this, having the carrot be further back every time, until Snazzy was bowing with one knee bent and the other out in front. In this position for the first time, Snazzy grew frightened, and she quickly got up. "It's ok, girl. You'll soon be a pro!" comforted Angelle.

Then she led Snazzy back to her stall, and gave her an apple as a treat, and stroked Snazzy's withers. "Good job, girl.

This is the Training Post for Kent.

Angelle haltered Kent and led him to the tack room. Kent spooked at the hitching point, but Angelle assured him that it was not a horse-eating monster. Angelle placed an English saddle on Kent, then outfitted him with a halter and lunge line. She then ran the stirrup irons to the top of the leather so that they wouldn't bounce against Kent when he was moving. Then she led him into the arena.

She said, "Whoa!" and stepped away from Kent, letting him have plenty of the lunge line. When she was around 4 feet away, she pointed the lunge whip toward the horse's hindquarters and clucked to him. As Kent started to move, she slowly backed up until she was about 10 feet away from him.

Angelle kept Kent walking in a clockwise direction for five minutes. The she pointed the whip upright and said "Whoa!" When the horse stopped, she slowly approached his head, taking up the slack in the lunge line as she went, being sure to keep the whip pointing up so as not to confuse the horse.

She then placed her hand on the lunge line about 4 inches from the horse's head and turned him around so he faced the opposite direction. She then adjusted her position and clucked. After five minutes, she clucked to him again, and he began trotting. Then she urged him to lope. After doing this with both directions, she cooled him down by walking for a few minutes.

She then walked up to Kent and mounted. She began by walking, then trotting, and finally loping him around the arena. Then she worked Kent by encouraging him to place his wait on his haunches by backing him up. She also worked him on tucking his head.

Angelle then turned him in tight circles, and worked on lead changes. After that, she urged Kent to gallop around the arena. "Come on, boy!" she urged him, and they sped around the arena until he had broken into a good sweat. Then Angelle cooled him down by walking him for ten minutes. "Good job, boy!" she praised him as she untacked him, then groomed him, making sure to check his hooves for any debris, and finally leading him toward his stall. Kent whinnied when they neared Snazzy's stall, but Angelle locked him into his stall, giving him a carrot as a treat.

This is the third training post for Snazzy.

Angelle haltered Snazzy and led her out of her stall. She led her through the aisle of the stables to the tack room, and tied her with a quick release knot. She placed the saddle and blanket on the mare and cinched it up, then bridled her. "Ready, girl?"

Angelle led Snazzy into the arena, and placed a foot in the stirrup and swung herself on. She began by walking, trotting, and finally loping Snazzy around the arena to warm her up.

Then she walked Snazzy to the first barrel laid out in the cloverleaf pattern, and at the point where she turned Snazzy right, she said, "Whoa!" and pulled on the reins. Snazzy stopped and looked at the barrel, with her ears held back, tuned to Angelle's cues.

Then Angelle continued walking Snazzy around the barrel and proceed to the next one. At the turn of that barrel, she stopped Snazzy, and let her absorb what she was teaching her. Then she continued walking her around that barrel and walked to the last one, where she stopped Snazzy before walking left around the barrel and walking down the cloverleaf pattern, completing it.

Angelle then urged Snazzy into a trot and trotted to the first barrel, stopping Snazzy, before turning right around it and trotting to the second barrel. At the second barrel, she stopped Snazzy, before trotting left around the barrel and trotting to the last barrel, where she stopped Snazzy, before turning left around the barrel and trotting back.

Then Angelle began slowly loping Snazzy toward the first barrel. When they approached the right turn, Snazzy slowed down, which is what Angelle wanted. "Good job, girl," she praised as she trotted around the barrel. Then she urged Snazzy to lope toward the second barrel. At the second barrel, Snazzy slowed down to a trot, carefully completing the turn and loping toward the next barrel. At the last barrel, Angelle trotted Snazzy around the barrel and loped back, completing the cloverleaf pattern. "Good job, Snazzy!

Angelle then urged Snazzy into a gallop. They galloped to the first barrel, and slowed to a lope while turning around it, then galloped to the second barrel, where they slowed and turned left around the barrel, then dashing off to the third barrel, and slowly galloping around it, then galloping to the end. "Good job, girl! That was fun, wasn't it?" Angelle praised Snazzy and stroked her withers.

Angelle then reviewed with Snazzy the figure 8 pattern they had done in the last training lesson, and the flying lead changes Snazzy had learned.

Angelle then urged Snazzy to gallop around the arena for a little while. She then slowed Snazzy down, and cooled her down by walking her for about 15 minutes.

Angelle then dismounted and led Snazzy to the tack room, where she tied her with a quick release knot and untacked her. She then groomed Snazzy, first with a curry comb, then with a stiff brush, and finally with a soft brush. Angelle then led Snazzy to her stall. "Good job, you did well today," she praised Snazzy.

This is the second training post for Kent

Angelle picked a halter from the tack room and walked to Kent's stall. The Thoroughbred stallion greeted her with a whinny, eager to be let out. "Just be patient, Kent," she said, as she carefully opened the stall's door and entered. Kent lowered his head, and Angelle slid the halter on. "Come on, Kent," she said as she led Kent out of the stall. Kent whinnied and tried to bolt away from her, but Angelle yanked on the halter and said, "Whoa!" Kent lifted his forelegs a bit off the ground, but Angelle kept a firm hold on him. She led him to the tack room and tied him with a quick release knot.

She brought out the curry comb, and rubbed him down, then brushed him with the stiff brush, and finally the soft brush. She then tacked him up with saddle and bridle, then mounted him.

She walked him into the arena. Once inside the arena, Angelle walked Kent around for a bit, then trotted, and finally allowed him to lope a bit.

Angelle trotted Kent in a figure 8 pattern. She then urged him to lope in the figure 8 pattern, forcing him to change leads at the center of the pattern.

Angelle then said, "Whoa!". Kent stopped. Angelle pulled back on the reins, while squeezing her legs. Kent began backing up. Angelle worked him until he backed up straight. Angelle then urged Kent into a gallop around the arena. Kent galloped around the arena, until he began to sweat, when Angelle slowed him down and began trotting him around the arena. She trotted first left for about 7 minutes, then right for about 7 minutes. Then she urged him to gallop again. She galloped him first left, then right, strengthening his left and right sides.

Then Angelle trotted him toward the first barrel. Kent's ears swung forward as the neared it, and his muscles tensed. He balked, and stopped, and would go no further. "Come on, Kent, it's not a horse-eating monster," she consoled him. She urged him forward, and Kent bolted backwards and galloped away. Angelle pulled on the reins, and slowed him down. "Look, I'll show you it's not dangerous," she said, as she dismounted. She led him toward the barrel. A few feet from the barrel he froze, and Angelle left them there and walked to the barrel.

Angelle touched the barrel and explained to him that it was not dangerous. Seeing her touching the barrel and walking around it, Kent began to calm down, and even took a step toward it. He took another step, and stretched his nose to the barrel, until he touched it. As soon as he touched it though, he bolted back, and began galloping wildly around the arena.

"Whoa, Kent!" said Angelle firmly. Kent continued galloping around, but finally slowed down. Angelle approached him, but Kent bolted away from her and trotted to the other side of the arena. He stopped and looked at her with comical eyes, as if saying See if you can catch me.

Angelle walked to the middle of the arena and clucked. Kent bolted and ran down the arena fence. Whenever he began to slow down, Angelle would cluck, and Kent would continue galloping around the arena. Finally, Angelle said, "Whoa," and Kent stopped, tired from running. He was sweating, and was glad to have a break. Angelle walked up to him and grabbed the reins. She then began to mount him, but Kent backed up. "Whoa there! What are you acting up today for?"

Angelle led Kent around the arena for a bit, then stopped him. She quickly swung herself on just as Kent began to walk forward. Finally astride the stallion, she began walking him around the arena. She then began turning him in small, tight circles, in both directions. Then she began to cool him down by walking him for about 15 minutes. "Good job, boy," she praised as she dismounted him and led him to the tack room.

At the tack room, Angelle looped the bridle's reins around the hitching post and went into the tack room with the saddle. She came out with the grooming equipment, but she saw Kent untied but peacefully grazing from the grasses nearby. That mischievous stallion, she thought as she went up to him and led him back. She slipped the bridle off and slid the halter on, then groomed him.

"Ok, let's get you back to your stall," she said. She led Kent toward his stall, but he insisted on touching noses with Snazzy when they passed her stall. Kent, however, was glad for a rest, and did not try any more pranks as Angelle placed him in his stall.

This is the training post for Anouska Cheslav

Angelle led Anouska, the new mare at Fading Twilight Arabians, out of her stall with halter. The mare followed obediently at her side as Angelle led her to the tack room. She groomed the mare down and hoof-picked her before tacking her up with Kent's tack. The she nimbly mounted Anouska and walked her into the arena.

Anouska's ears swiveled forward and her eyes got bigger as she looked around at the unfamiliar surroundings. Angelle soothed the mare by speaking quietly to her and stroking her withers.

Angelle urged Anouska into a trot around the arena after she had walked her for a few minutes. Anouska moved out at great ease, but she chopped at the bit, wanting to go faster. Angelle laughed and began trotting Anouska into small circles until the mare gave up trying to pull the reins out of Angelle's hand.

Angelle then let Anouska canter around the arena. As they whizzed passed one of the jumps, Anouska spooked and bolted, galloping faster. She soon slowed, however, when Angelle pulled on the reins.

Finally Angelle halted Anouska at one end of the arena and faced the first jump. "Ready to jump, girl?" she asked as Anouska pulled the reins away from Angelle's hands by pulling her head down.

Angelle began cantering Anouska to the first jump, speeding her up as they neared it. Then she clucked and dug her heels into the mare's side and leaning forward. The jumps were low and Anouska cleared the first successfully. Angelle steered her to the second jump and jumped over it and to the third jump and jumped over it too. "Good job!" she praised Anouska.

Angelle then dismounted and raised the jumps to 2'6". She mounted Anouska and cantered toward the first. The mare jumped over it, swishing her tail into Angelle's face as she landed. They jumped through the second one. As they came to the third one, Anouska suddenly lost confidence and slid to a stop, almost shoving Angelle over her head. "Good job, Anouska! You're getting the hang of it," said Angelle as she cooled the mare down.

After cooling her down, Angelle rode Anouska to the tack room and dismounted. She unsaddled and unbridled Anouska and led her to her stall. Kent stuck his head out of his stall and nickered as they passed.

This is the training post for Silver Myst.

Angelle led Myst, the new Arabian mare, out of her stall and to the tack room. The mare swerved her ears forward curiously as Angelle brought out the saddle and saddled the mare, after grooming her. Angelle slipped the bridle on after taking the halter off. "Are you ready to work?" she asked the mare. Myst nudged her on the shoulder, as if saying, Sure, let's go for it. Angelle laughed and mounted the mare, walking her into the arena.

She warmed the mare up by walking her around for a few minutes, then trotting her. Then she asked the mare for a lope. The spirited Arabian lurched forward, kicking her hind legs slightly into the air, threatening to buck. "Easy there, girl!" Angelle reprimanded her.

Finally under control, Myst loped easily around the arena. "Whoa," said Angelle, pulling on the reins. The mare slowed to a stop, and Angelle turned her to face the jumps.

She squeezed her calves into the mare's sides. Myst lurched forward in a gallop, as they headed toward the first jump. As they neared the first jump, Angelle dug her heels into the mare's sides and clucked, sending the two of them over the jump. "Good job, Myst!" she praised the mare, stroking her withers.

Angelle then began walking Myst in a figure 8 pattern. She proceeded to trotting the figure 8 pattern, and finally loping. Then she began walking the mare around, cooling her down. "That's all for today, Myst," she told the mare, as she dismounted and led her to the tack room. She untacked the mare, and brushed her down with a curry comb, a stiff brush, and then a soft brush.
